The P3500 Poulan string trimmer is a non split shaft design that offers two modes of operation: trimming and edging. Prices competivelly with most battery powered trimmers (currently $120), the Poulan features a 17 inch cutting swath. Reports from users indicate that the 25cc 2 cycle engine is easy to start and producres a minimum of odor. The curved shaft affords ergonomic operation. The split shaft design allows easy swapping of available attachments, making it an affordable alternative to dedicated tools. The edge trimmer attachment in particular has received outstanding reviews for its ruggedness, ease of use, and affordability. Many report that it performs better than stand alone tools designed specifically for that purpose.
